A clear colourless liquid. Flash point 140°F. Less dense than water and insoluble in water. Vapours heavier than air.

• It has a low density, low surface tension, and slow evaporation rate, which makes it suitable for high-solids and low-VOC formulations
• It is a solvent for many synthetic resins, such as nitrocellulose, alkyds, polyesters, and acrylics
