Methyl isobutyl carbinol (MIBC) is an organic chemical compound that is a colourless liquid with a pungent alcohol odour. It is a derivative of acetone and has limited solubility in water but is generally miscible with most organic solvents

• Used in the production of lubricant oil additives
• Has uses in solvents, organic synthesis, brake fluids and plasticiser precursors
